How to protect your hair in the summer time: learn how to do it in this post.

During the hot months our hair can suffer from the hot wind and the heat, and it’s not easy to stay home when the pool, the ocean and the summer fun calls!

But all this fun comes with a price: chlorine in the pools, salt water, sun, dry hot wind are all very aggressive for your hair, and they can become harmful taking a toll on the beauty and health of your hair.

In order to keep your hair protected, brilliant and healthy during the summer time, follow these tips, and don’t forget that the sun is merciless on your hair and your skin.

Strong sun may trigger hair loss: this is what you can do

1. Use an organic Shampoo and Conditioner

When it’s hot you get a lot of sweat in your hair, so you should use a pH balanced organic shampoo free of aggressive chemicals, that can clear away excessive dirt, without irritating your skin. After shampoo, use a good organic conditioner, possibly rich in amino acids and proteins. This can help you avoid hair loss in summer time.

There are in the market also special shampoos specifically for swimmers that can clear away chlorine and keep your skin scalp moistured.

Make sure to choose the right shampoo to prevent hair loss!

2. Saltwater and Chlorine can trigger hair loss in summer time

Salt water is very aggressive for your hair, and what it does is to suck up the protective oils and moisture from your hair and scalp, leaving it rough and coarse.

Before taking a bath, wash your hair with clean water and cover your strands with an emollient conditioner to stop the chemicals and chlorine from penetrating your hair.

Try to wash your hair immediately as soon as you are out of the water.

Also in this case, remember the importance to use an organic shampoo and conditioner.

3. Dull Hair and Fight Frizzy

Women hate frizzy hair, and this is understandable. To protect them use products based on silicon while your hair is still wet.

Otherwise you can rub a small amount of oil (jojoba, avocado or coconut oil) into your brittle locks.

Rinse your strands with apple cider vinegar after conditioning, and for extra smoothness and shininess, make a mask with cacao powder and plain yogurt. Leave it for 30 minutes and then wash it away.

It will wonder miracles for your hair! Wearing a cup under a strong sun is always a very smart thing to do.
