Does saw palmetto work for androgenetic alopecia
Saw Palmetto is a type of palm which is native to North America, and it grows in Georgia, Florida and the Atlantic coast.
It was used by Native Americans to cure urinary conditions in men, and in the last decades it has become a recognized treatment for benign prostate gland enlargement and it is also widely used as an herbal remedy for androgenic alopecia and female pattern baldness.
Although not all that use it, report great benefits, it is believed that it contributes to block the enzyme 5 alpha-reductase, which transforms the male hormone testosterone into its derived DHT (dihydrotestosterone).
The medical science knows that this is one of the main factors that contributes to hair loss, in fact, it attacks the hair follicles, miniaturizing them until they become “dormant” and stop producing new hair roots and follicles.
There have been some lab studies that showed the this plant extract can actually inhibit this enzyme, but there is not much real evidence that it can really stop baldness, and prevent hair loss and receding hairlines from progressing.
The users of our natural hair loss treatment, the Endhairloss.eu Full Program, are generally not enthusiastic of this herbal supplement, and we have gathered enough evidence that shows us that it is not an effective “tool” against baldness.
Saw palmetto “collateral damages”
Besides, this “herb” has potential side effects, such as diarrhea, bad breath, mild stomach pain and nausea, and some men taking it have even reported erectile dysfunction and decreased sexual desire.
It may also influence the levels of sex hormones, both in males and females, and people with hormone-sensitive conditions, such as breast cancer, should avoid using it or even trying it.
As you may have already understood, we are not big fans of this hair loss herbal treatment , mainly because of the negative feedback we have got from our own subscribers.
